GRR Reviews Honest Horseman (River's End Ranch) by Cindy Caldwell

Wyatt never understood why his beloved Belinda just disappeared one night, before he can propose to her, so they can live on River's End Ranch forever doing what they both love. He had never gotten over her, the pain was too great. Years later, after finding signs of poaching on ranch property, Wyatt reluctantly called in Fish&Game... and the warden they sent is Belinda. After investigating and gathering evidence, and barely speaking to each other, the air thawed somewhat, until Belinda found a piece of evidence that shattered her resolve... The reason that she ran out that night is back to haunt her again, and this time, it may destroy her completely.

There really wasn't that much of a romance. Wyatt was basically such a straight-shooter that Belinda felt ashamed. The bits just didn't quite come together. To explain why, I need to spoil the ending.

SPOILER

AHEAD

YOU'VE

BEEN

WARNED

Belinda was protecting her little brother after Wyatt caught him poaching on his family land. She basically dragged little brother off to Arizona, and never came back because she was ashamed, while Wyatt want to call in the juvies. She got trained as warden and got back to her hometown. This time, Belinda will put the cuffs on her little brother herself, figuratively, but when Belinda hesitated to name her brother as suspect, because she wanted to be sure first, Wyatt is like "so you're protecting your brother... AGAIN". Grrrr. After brother got hauled away, Wyatt realized he's being stupid, proposed, and they got married. ARGH! Sorry, these characters are shallow.
