GRR Reviews Lily by Cyndi Raye
In the town of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lily loves Ben, but she can never marry him. Ben moved to Ft. Worth for a while, but came back, and intends to build a hotel there, one of the best out in the state, and he is trying every trick to goad Lily into marrying him, short of anything illegal, of course. Including publicly announcing he's going to get a mail-order bride (it's just a ploy though). But Lily can't marry Ben, because she's keeping a secret.. a rival guy, Byron, threatened to hurt Ben, and Byron is tangled up into all sorts of shady deals. And one night... something happened between Byron and Lily... (no, not that, never got THAT far). But Byron doesn't want Lily to tell ANYONE about that night either. So she had to keep Ben away so Byron won't hurt Ben. But Ben's not taking no for an answer... When Byron decided to force Lily to marry him instead... things are getting a bit complicated...
The ending seems to be a bit too serendipitous, but at least it's not really a mail-order bride story per se. But this book has just a bit too much shame, IMHO.
