GRR Reviews Finding Spring by Bridget E Baker

Trudy knew life's a struggle. She's a single mother with a sick son, a load of medical debt, with no job and no college degree. And her ex, Chris may have been lying for YEARS. The only way out was to find a job and pay off the debt. There is no time for any frivolities... such as dating. Unfortunately, her family and friends keep trying to set her up, and the only job she can find is "interim assistant"... Then she met her boss Paul... handsome, flirty, and swoon-worthy. But she's not in a good place to date... and not her boss...

If you are not feeling much from the summary here, let's just say the plot gets a lot twistier once you get into it, due to a name mix-up. Paul here is actually known as "Jack" to his friends, and the friends who keep trying to set Trudy up wanted her to meet "Jack" (and she never did). Paul doesn't known that "Gertie" that his friends wanted him to meet is actually Trudy, his own assistant. (The full name is "Gertrude", a very old fashioned female name). This (unintentional) disguise works great to build up the tension, as sort of comedic love triangle. I think the darkest hour reaction was a bit overblown though.  4.5/5
