Miller Cassidy, one of Indianapolis Panthers' star players (NBA) felt he'd been wronged. He was caught brawling and sentenced to community service when all he did was defend a woman against her abusive husband. Miller has a thing for Stella, the team's PR specialist, but Stella didn't want him that way. Stella, however, cares enough about Miller to ask a favor from her best friend Kate, who runs a non-profit and can let Miller do his community service there. Kate is too busy fundraising to be babysitting as notoriously entitled playboy athlete like Miller, but she can use Miller's help on the phone bank if only for his celebrity factor. But soon Kate and Miller both saw past each other's shell... to the person underneath. Is Miller ready to let go of his lust for Stella, and be with Kate? Will Kate accept the "distraction" of loving a famous NBA player?
The premise had been done before: busy woman saddled with "bad boy" athlete needing a reputation makeover (See Perfect Summer by Katie Graykowski) though this one managed to put a somewhat new spin: transferring unrequited love to a new subject. But somehow, it just lacks the special something. 3.5/5
