GRR Reviews Trouble by Samantha Towle

Mia ran away from the man who abused her, and wanted to possess her. She was already abused by a father who belted her at the slightly provocation (even buying a tube top is grounds for a whipping for buying "something a whore would wear") She thought she was free when her father died, only to fall for a sharp-tongued lawyer who's just as bad. Until she ran, into a different state. And she fell for a tattooed cocky bab boy by the name of Jordan. He's "just helping out" at the family inn. He gambles and he was a womanizer who picks up one-night stands at bars. And he realized that for first time in his life, he wants a woman for a lot longer than one night. But he can tell Mia is damaged, frightened, and not ready. But Mia's past soon caught up with her...

Okay, I can see the evil father who chose to "punish" his daughter because he can't punish the wife. That's evil in a different ilk, even though it's not strictly sadism. But the BF? Sure, entitled jerk, that turned outright sadist and physically violent, almost understandable. But the end is basically this BF doing something TSTL and deserves to get caught (using force to physically intimidate her into leaving with him, in a hospital room, with nurses and doctors just seconds away). I just felt a bit of meh. And this storyline had been written many times before. This has decent polish, but due to the TSTL villain, really doesn't stand out among its peers.   3/5
