Tristan knew that while he's a billionaire and his marketing firm is doing good, he can do better. He wanted to expand into women's product marketing and chose Belle Rousseau, a skin care company, as their first client, but the name recognition didn't help. Tristan decided to make a personal appeal to Juliette Rousseau, the head. Juliette, having a personal crisis when she learned her father had a heart attack, and she needed to head home to help... AND to bring home a boyfriend, decided to trust Tristan with a novel proposal... Pretend to be her boyfriend for a few weeks, and the contract is his. But was it really just pretend, or is there real love?
Didn't like this too much. While the small town life is fine, the idea that both of them, head of their respective companies, can just disappear for weeks at a time, and she can't even tell whether the suspect photo was a genuine kiss or just an "ambush kiss" just make the darkest hour feel really forced. She also didn't show any self-doubt or such issues before. 3/5

GRR Reviews Austen, Party of Two by Britney M Mills
Lexi had a bad experience with romance during culinary school, and after graduation, threw herself into her food truck business, with no time for love. Speed-dating didn't help, as she's becoming known as a one-date-wonder (nobody wanted to date her twice). When her best friend asked her to be one of the coaches for a charity celebrity bake-off series, she can't refuse... Until she found out her student is the gorgeous jerk from last week's speed-dating event... // Brennan is a journalist and a fitness guru. When his family charity is holding a celebrity bake-off, he had to join, but he's as shocked as her when she's assigned as his baking coach. And he's definitely feeling the heat. But Brennan proved to be a surprisingly fast learner, perhaps, not as bad of a jerk as he had shown Lexi. But Brennan had one item he hadn't confessed to... He was the food critic that gave her horrible reviews a few months back... when he didn't know ANYTHING about food trucks...
Awww, just enough angst to make it worthwhile in this sorta enemies-to-lovers combined with a reality show that's NOT about bachelors and auctions, but more of a Top Chef style show. Nice. 4.5/5

GRR Reviews The Australian Billionaire by Britney M Mills
Jackson grew up in the foster system in Australia, and always hoped for a proper family. It wasn't until his college football coach that he got straightened out. Now a billionaire in sports technology and equipment, he was shocked to learn that Coach had just passed away from cancer, and he immediately changed plans to attend his funeral with most of the old team in California to honor the man that turned them around. // Hailey, betrayed by her boyfriend, threw herself into real estate, and is a well-known commercial real estate agent. Somehow, she never felt she measured up to the boys her father always talked about. Her evil ex, also an athlete, lead her to despite all rich jocks. And Jackson was both rich and a jock. But landing a deal from him, who also plans to buy some retail space in the area, can be the key to her next promotion, so she had to be nice to him. Soon she realized Jackson is NOT a bad person, and nothing like her evil ex... but can she ever love him?
Hmmm... Okay, I can see why Hailey would like Jackson, but why does Jackson like Hailey? That wasn't explained that well, except maybe "Coach's examples". Also, I don't quite get Hailey's personality. Hailey supposedly had to turn away from her social work career because she's too sad doing all that, and she went completely 180 into real estate. So she runs away from stuff she can't handle. Why didn't she really run this time? 3.5/5

GRR Reviews Love, Austen by Britney M Mills
Meg Austen runs the matchmaking service "Love, Austen". She is having success, but the expansion into a physical location had tied up her cash. She applied with an investment group, but was told she needs a boyfriend for herself, to show she trusts in the system. But she's too busy, and her last BF was what inspired this service... // Parker wants to be named partner in the lawfirm, to continue his legacy, and he was told that if he has a fiancee, to show some stability, the existing partners will treat him more seriously. But he hadn't really dated when his last serious GF told him "no" before he even asked the question... // Meg and Parker met at a wedding, and both are intrigued... Then he proposed a deal... They'll be fake BF/GF for a month or two, help each other out...
Not bad, but the darkest hour, IMHO, was a bit on the lame side.
