Sofia and her sisters were far away with their own dreams, when they were summoned back to their historical Ambrose Estate in Texas... for reading of her grandma's will, even though she's alive and kicking... It seems Sofia will be the only one getting the estate... which also destroyed her dreams of starting a veterinary clinic, as running the estate is a full-time job. When one of the on-site oil wells flared, Sofia hired the best, Gavin, who was fighting oil well fires in the Middle East with his team. Each assumed the other the worst, each was pleasantly surprised when they finally met. But Sofia knew of her family's curse... No Ambrose men survived, and many who dared to love an Ambrose woman had befallen the same fate. But will the discovery of her great-grandmother's journal help her break the curse, or break her heart when she knew she cannot have Gavin, when he almost died?
Nice handling of the curse, but the journal reading going back more than a century sort of breaks the narrative momentum when there's a need for info dump. Call it 4/5

GRR Reviews The Executive's Secret by Kimberley Montpetit
Caleb and his partners have built a billion-dollar enterprise in the past decade. But he had never forgotten Kira back in a Denver high school, the pianist that he admired... from two rows back. Back then, he's the invisible geek with the greasy hair and acne. But now, he's gorgeous, rich, and if he wanted to be, irresistible. In the very evening when he and his team returned to Dever, Colorado, he found Kira, as one of the waitresses there... // Kira had to quit school after an auto accident crippled her father and now, her mother had gotten dementia. She's barely scraping by, helping her parents with the medical bills. She did not remember Caleb, but when a handsome and rich guy pays attention to you, you can't ignore it... And Caleb wanted to help Kira... and have a relationship with her, if possible. But Caleb has a secret that can destroy EVERYTHING...
Ah, the geek gone gorgeous, sorta genderbent ugly duckling, and rich as sin. There's gotta be a downside, and it's that secret he'd been hiding. Let's just say it's NOT QUITE as bad as you'd expect it to be, even though it was very selfish of him, even though it's also kinda sweet if you look at it a different way. I guess the problem is Caleb is almost a bit TOO good and ideal. And Kira a little TOO selfless. 4.5/5

GRR Reviews The BIlionaire's Christmas Hideaway by Kimberley Montpetit
Reve had two failed relationships. She thought she finally found the one, only to see him wooing a different woman... just before Christmas. Refusing to go on her family trip to India, she chose to visit her best friend in New Mexico, and met cowboy Logan. Logan is a real cowboy, charming, kind, and oh very handsome. And they share the Christmas spirit... when she's not in a sour mood. But she's a city girl who's leaving soon.. and he's a country boy who had to stay... Can this relationship ever work?
Good public scene when she realized the betrayal, but it seems her half-Asian background didn't come up much, other than made her "exotic".

Overall Rating: 4/5

GRR Reviews The Neighbor's Secret by Kimberley Montpetit
Allie decided to head home after she was jilted on her wedding day... Her lawyer fiancee ran off to take care of a case instead of showing up at his own wedding. Humiliated and angry, and tired of being smothered by her family, Allie decided to rent a home... only to be accosted by a handsome stranger... who claims to own the cottage she just rented and needed to move back. He has old ties to the town, but he's back with a fake name "Ethan" and some hush-hush project... with no room available in town, they are forced to share the residence... And Allie is confused about "Ethan"... he seems to be sincere, yet she knew next to nothing about him... or his secret project(s). Yet Allie found herself falling for him... Then her ex-fiancee showed up asking for a second chance...
The plot was simple: jilted woman ran off and found new love, must choose between new love and old flame. The complications about the secret project or town was good. The whole book just feels... light-hearted, and not particularly tense. If that's the style you're looking for, then this is right up your alley. For those who prefer a bit more angst instead of giddiness, this is probably not for you.
