Stephanie left Michigan for a mountain cabin in Tennessee, hoping to finish her novel. Her neighbor Logan, is trying to write a nature guide to heal from his past tragedy. Neither would quite come clean about their respective pasts, even though both knew they are attracted to one another, and Logan is there to share his expertise and to protect her. But Logan is also keeping Steph away from his tragedy he'd rather not confront... Yet for him to get past that tragedy, he will have to allow her to get closer...
The guy's a bit hard to empathize with, as his solution is to run away from his feelings, ALWAYS. The struggles though, are pretty good. 4/5

GRR Reviews Chasing Forever by Susan Coventry
Callie is a romance writer that hit a serious writer's block after her beloved grandma's death, and a breakup of her 7-year relationship. But her grandma left her a gift... An extended vacation on the island of Kauai... Eight weeks to get her mojo back. // Chase had enough of his life. As a divorce attorney he makes a good but uncomfortable living, and finding his girlfriend cheating on him was the last straw. He took a leave of absence and went off to Kauai. // Callie and Chase met and found they are beach neighbors. But she's not here for a fling (but to write), and he's running away from betrayal, and not ready to test the waters yet. But when they find out they were actually both from Michigan, they became friends. Can they be more... even after this vacation?
Good, though the darkest hour was, IMHO, a bit on the lame side. Basically, Callie was a bit of hypocrite, claiming Chase had known all along who she was (a romance writer) and didn't say anything when she had googled him and didn't say anything either. 4/5

GRR Reviews The Perfect Blend by Susan Coventry
Mason knew Brooke was the one for him when she came to visit Harbor Springs a year ago. Brooke came to visit her sister Beth, and Beth is now married to Colton, Mason's brother. But Brooke wasn't ready as she's in a relationship back then. Now, Brooke fled to Harbor Springs when her fiancee broke the engagement. Mason doesn't just want to be the rebound guy, but he'll take what he can get, even if it's just friendship. But Brooke's sisters connive to pair the two together for a weekend, and perhaps, that is when they will finally learn if they are the perfect blend.
A bit of unrequited love, a lot of hidden feelings, and love at a low simmer. But even stuff on low simmer will boil over... This is a series and you'll get more out of it if you read it in order. 4.5/5

GRR Reviews The Perfect Distraction by Susan Coventry

It was just for the summer, and be reunited with her sisters is a bonus. She didn't count on meeting Colton... // Colton is a single dad taking care of his son Joey and working in his family's woodworking biz. The divorce was contentious and he is in no mood for any relationship, not even with the beautiful neighbor Beth. But when he learned that Beth is a teacher, he hired her to tutor Joey over the summer. And what was meant as the perfect distraction to help Beth heal over the summer soon became a lot more...
Now that's the proper way to do a slow-burn romance, when love came from an unexpected direction. 4.5/5

GRR Reviews An Island Christmas Wedding by Susan Coventry
Jess and Shane, plus Hannah and Ty are off to the US Virgin Islands for their double wedding, but not all are going quite well. Jess is worried about seeing her father and sister again, from whom she was estranged from. And Hannah is worried about fitting into her wedding gown... while pregnant. And Matt, the best man and Shane/Hannah's brother, is falling for maid-of-honor, who's Jess's sister... This Christmas will be interesting indeed!
Sorta sequel to another novel, this is "the further adventures" with a bit of Christmas is for forgiveness and family theme. Good.

GRR Reviews See You Then by Susan Coventry
See You Then is about a widow being wooed by a 17 year younger lover, and she's not being a cougar (she's not going after him). But nonetheless, things got complicated.
Samantha "Sam" Sullivan, a 40-year old widow, is resigned to her single status. The last thing she'd ever expect is to be wooed by her next-door neighbor, the hot 23-year old college student Jason. She was reluctant to get involved as she doesn't want to do the cougar thing, but she missed having a man in her life, and Jason isn't taking no for an answer. But when friends, family, and even an ex GF got involved, and he's going to school soon, will this relationship ever work?
Warm and cozy, but not much heat. There wasn't any big fight or much of the darkest hour. On the other hand, the push-pull is nice.

GRR Reviews Love Notes by Susan Coventry
Love Notes has a generic title hiding "platonic friends to lovers" story where she thought she's unworthy and he's a manwhore. The ending was somewhat unsatisfactory, and the book felt a lot longer than it is.
Sophia and Drew were best friends... and nothing more. They've been that way since high school, really. Both had wondered, but neither dare to ruin a good thing. They have dinner every week, but he's a roaming sales rep, and she's a librarian. When Sophia needed a date to attend a friend's wedding, with no current boyfriend, the only candidate was Drew. Besides, he owned her one after she pretended to be his GF back in high school when a girl got a bit stalker-ish. Drew is charming, smart, and sexy, but also a bit of a manwhore, with a lot of notches on the bedpost, so to speak. So Sophia has no plans to cross the line with Drew. But as they say, no plan survives the moment of contact... Now Sophia has to decide whether taking it over the line will be worth the risk...
Reads a lot longer than it feels. It says 230 pages, but it feels like a 400-page tome, probably because it did spend a lot of time kissing and caressing but falling a bit short, until the end. No major angst, but Sophia did spend a lot of time fretting with inadequacy tropes, and the darkest hour was kinda lame compared to the slow-boil tension. Above average, but not like OMG-Must-Read.
