Maisie lost her unborn child and her husband in a tornado two years ago. While her body had healed, her mind had not, including PTSD and body image issues due to her scars. So when the new veterinarian in town, Ryan Tucker, tried to cheer her up, she wasn't quite ready, but soon, he wore her down somewhat, only to have her panic attack resurface, but he was persistent, and gradually her walls fell... Then his secret came roaring into town.
The twists are pretty short and resolved relatively quickly,, and the emotions are raw, but the guy basically has no faults thus weren't that satisfying. All in all, a short but sweet and emotional romance.
