GRR Review: Caught by Stella Noir

Enjoyed Caught, a hitman romance by Stella Noir, with a pretty fresh take on the "false identity real love" trope. But the FMC seems to be wasted as her hobby was never brought up again.

Joe Mars is a hitman on his last hit where he can retire to his respectable day job when some unknown girl witnessed his last hit, and he could have killed her, but did not, but he was unable to catch her. Weeks later, in his respectable persona, he found her, Nike, as the same fundraiser dinner, trying to seduce him as a bet from a friend, and he was only too happy to oblige, if only to learn what did she really know... but he can't bring himself to kill her. For they are genuinely fond of each other. But one day, either of them may slip up... Then someone threatened to expose Mars...

I was surprised at who made the grand gesture to resolve the story, but I rather enjoyed the ending. However, Nike's fascination of rooftops and parkour prowess was never discussed again other than the beginning. I feel that was somewhat of a wasted potential. And the characters were rather shallow, IMHO, other than the tension  between them.

I do have to warn people about the bonus novella though. It's a "Dark Romance" novella that deal with kidnapping and BDSM. Reader discretion is advised.

Category: Romantic Suspense

Primary Plot: Hitman on his last hit left a witness alive, then he found her by chance, and decided to seduce her to see what she knew...

Overall Rating:  3/5
