GRR Review Protecting Caroline (SEAL of Protection by Susan Stoker

Protecting Caroline is a "SEAL / bodyguard" story between Matthew "Wolf" Steel and Caroline.  However, the FMC was independent to the point of being masochistic.

Caroline and Wolf (and his two SEAL buds) foiled a hijacking attempt but left out the details on how Caroline was the one who spotted the spiked ice. Caroline was used to being in the background, and did not tell the FBI. Later on the East Coast, Matthew developed a relation with the tough girl Caroline, but had to leave for a mission when unknown persons invaded Caroline's residence. Caroline was moved at FBI's insistence to a safehouse, and Matthew and team joined her, but the safehouse was attacked and Caroline taken. Can the SEAL team save her?

There are a lot of problems with the SEAL team conducting operations on American soil, even if it's "unsanctioned". The way bad guys gloat toward the end and how the good guys lost Caroline in the first place is just lame. The FMC is another problem in that she's basically masochistic and anonymous. Cuts that require stitches? Tough it out with paper towels. Don't want to see paparazzi? Sleep on the floor instead of going to a hotel. A Handsome guy interested in her? Can't possibly be worthy, must be a mistake. That's just masochistic, sorry.

Category: Romantic suspense

Primary Plot:  Tough girl who foiled a terrorist attack was kidnapped by terrorists for retribution. It'd be up to the SEAL team to save her.

Overall Rating:  2/5
