Phoebe is the town's Miss Popularity, everybody knew her, but nobody bothered romancing her except Mark, who started dating scientist Nadia a year ago, and is about to be engaged. Now she's desperate to have Mark back because dating ANYBODY ELSE in town is too awkward, until Joe Spencer came into town, hoping to find Nadia, and reclaim her for himself. Joe is exciting for a city boy, and Phoebe needs to quickly remake him to fit into Sapphire Falls so that Mark will abandon Nadia and go back into her arms... and leave Nadia for Joe here. It's a win-win situation, that is... However, the more Phoebe get to know Joe, the less excited she felt about Mark, and the more Joe get to know Phoebe, the more he realized Phoebe had never been really swept off her feet ...
I am rarely excited to finish a romance, until now, and I'd say that this romance tickled me quite well, as both Phoebe and Joe found a lot about themselves throughout the book and how they come together was interesting. And that grand gesture... Without spoiling anything, I'd say that's one of the most OUTRAGEOUS grand gesture in the romances (several hundred) I've read so far. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it
