GRR Reviews Wild West Frontier Brides Boxed Set Vol. by Cindy Caldwell
Wild Western Frontier Brides is a collection of three clean (no sex) mail order bride stories (well, technically last one isn't...) that managed to make it sweet, funny, and romantic three times in a row.
Chef's Mail Order Bride -- Sadie was forced to close her bakery in the East when her parents' died and the bank came calling, and when her twin sister (who married out West in Tombstone, AZ) said the local chef needed a bride to get a loan, she went West, taking a huge leap of faith...
Wrangler's Mail Order Bride -- Clara was a baker with Sadie's bakery until it closed. She was acting as nanny to her brother's family until her brother/wife announced they're moving to New York. When Clara also got news that Sadie, who's married in Tombstone, found a man who needed a bride to inherit some land, Clara decided to cast her fate all the way to Arizona as well...
Bartender's Mail Order Bride -- Sam Allen gave up his career and wandered out West, and became the bartender in the local restaurant. When he found out his mother is coming to visit, and he had previously lied that he was married and is well off, he had to find a bride fast... But when mail inquiries resulted in only one response... and it's local in the city, Sam realized there is no way he can marry this girl, even though she wanted him since he arrived in town... but with his mom on the way, and she's willing to defy her own family... how far can they maintain the charade?
All three stories are sweet, as the bride and groom learned about each other quite quickly. None are insta-lust but slow-building affection that turned to love. Fun read, even though none of them are like super-nice-must-read fares.
