GRR Reviews Where I Found You by Brooke O'Brien
"Where I found you" is a "small town romance" that featured two damaged people coming back together, but the two characters are too similar.
Ellie had a very tough life. Her father died early, and her mother turned to alcohol for solace. She ended up with a string of loser BFs many of whom abused her. She built a wall around her heart that nothing can get through... Until she encountered the one kid that was kind to her... now all grown up... // Callum has had a hard life. His father is a drunk who takes out frustration on wife and child... and he got self-destructive as well. Until things got better... his step-father set him straight. When he found Ellie again, she's his perfect complement... but breaching her walls may prove to be an impossible task...
I like the push-pull between the two, but the two characters are too much alike, as I said. Their wounds are similar: neglect and unfortunate circumstances. But the push-pull is pretty good.
