GRR Reviews The Alaskan (Sweet Love) by Michele Bradley
Abigail is on a manhunt, looking for "Kurt Halden", a financial genius who dropped out of sight after embroiled in a scandal and accused of stealing from his company. Abigail heard he might be hiding out in the remote wilderness in Alaska and hired the only bush pilot around, Cappy, who is crazy enough to fly her out there. Things went bad when Cappy's heart finally gave out during the flight, and the plane controlled landed in the forest near Kurt's cabin, and Abby was knocked out. Abby woke up in Kurt's cabin, having forgotten why she needed to be there, just that she needed to tell Kurt something... // Kurt's heart was broken when his fiancee Kate drove away after a big fight, then came the news that she crashed and died. Then he was accused of stealing two BILLION dollars from his company when he didn't. In a total meltdown, he just disappeared into the Alaskan wilderness and lived with his three dogs in an old cabin he bought. It has been four years, but reporters are the enemy who bled him dry. Now an almost-reporter showed up on his door, looking for him... he doesn't buy the amnesia gig at all, but he can't deny Abigail is attractive. Why now? What was Abigail hiding?
Good twist or two after they decided they aren't enemies. The darkest hour was slightly cliche that she had to leave. The grand gesture was not bad if a slight bit dramatic, but effective. It works.
